Aaron Harper was raised in North Queensland finishing school at Heatley Secondary College, Townsville.
With a passion and drive for helping people, Aaron’s first job in 1985 was at the Townsville Hospital employed as a medical orderly.
In 1990 Aaron joined the Queensland Ambulance Service and went on to become an Intensive Care Flight Paramedic, a role he still enjoys today. Aaron has held various positions in his Ambulance career working throughout Townsville and the surrounding district as Acting Officer in Charge of many Stations including the Northern Beaches and Kirwan Ambulance Stations.
A strong advocate for improving services, Aaron gained much needed community support for extra staff and resources through his work as an Ambulance Union delegate.
Aaron is passionate about his community and helping others. He was the President of the Combined Emergency Services Committee from 1995 to 2000 which raised significant funds to help build the Ronald McDonald House in Townsville.
Aaron’s interests include North Queensland Cowboys, golf, junior rugby league, gardening, any form of exercise and important family time.
Aaron is Chair of the Health, Communities, Disability Services and Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Committee.
