Ken has enjoyed living in and around the Sunshine Coast for over thirty years, and finally moved to Buderim with his wife 5 years ago to pursue a life surrounded by the beautiful environment and a strong community spirit.
Ken grew up in SEQ, and completed his education including Bachelor of Science, Graduate Diploma of Environmental Quality and Masters of Business Administration in SEQ. He has worked for a number of SEQ Councils in front-line roles serving the local community. During this time, Ken has continually been recognised for his work in delivering sustainable community outcomes, and has received a number of prestigious awards and international recognition for his dedication to the community.
In his current role, Ken is a Principal Environment Officer and part of the COVID-19 industry economic recovery initiatives. Ken draws his inspiration from people and the natural beauty of the area. He listens and understands the needs of the community and can drive policy to achieve the best outcome for the people of Buderim.
Ken stands for ‘Working with the community, for the community’. This means re-engaging with the community on a personal level, active listening on what is in the hearts and minds of the community, and empowering the community so that we are all working with the same goals.
