Carl Ungerer is a McPherson local, working and raising his family on the southern Gold Coast.
Living locally with his wife Candice, daughter Heidi, and their two German Shepherds Max and Bella, Carl understands what is important to the people of McPherson. Dedicated to his community, Carl is an active volunteer on the local school P&C committee, the Currumbin Surf Life Saving Club, and the rural fire brigade.
Having taught at a range of schools and universities in Australia and internationally, including working as a primary school supply teacher on the Gold Coast, Carl is passionate about the transformative power of a good education. He also understands that senior Australians deserve to live with dignity, and will fight to defend Medicare and stop the Morrison governments’ cashless debit card for pensioners.
Carl has extensive experience in international relations and his recognised expertise in foreign affairs and national security will make him a strong addition to the Anthony Albanese Labor team.
Carl is ready to take on the challenge of removing this unreliable Morrison government and working with the federal Labor team to achieve a strong economic and health recovery.
He will ensure that the people of McPherson get the representation they deserve in the Federal Parliament.
