General Privacy Statement

This site is operated by the Australian Labor Party (Queensland Branch). This site abides by the Guidelines for Federal and ACT Government World Wide Web Sites issued by the Australian Privacy Commissioner.

Personal Information regulated by legislation is “information or an opinion whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an individual whose identity is apparent, or can reasonably be ascertained, from the information or opinion”. 

The information received and recorded depends on what activities you undertake when you visit the site.

This web site contains links to other sites. The owner of this site is not responsible for the content and the privacy practices of other web sites and encourages you to examine each site’s privacy policy and make your own decisions regarding the accuracy, reliability and correctness of material and information found.

Site visit data

Site visit data is generally not classed as Personal Information however it is important that you are informed as to how this information is used.

This site makes a record of your visit, recording the following information for statistical purposes to assist us improve the site. The information is provided to us by your browser:

  • your server’s address
  • your operating system (such as Windows or Mac)
  • the name of the top-level domain from which you access the Internet (for example, .gov, .com, .au, .nz, etc)
  • the date and time of your  visit to the site
  • the pages accessed and documents downloaded

Discussion groups, mailing lists, online forums, bulletin boards

This site may host discussions groups, which allow discussion via posts on a web site, or by email. Some may allow chat using IRC. Some of these services have a publicly accessible web archive. Where there is a web archive, subscribers are informed. If you subscribe to one of these services you should be aware that your complete email, including your email address, may be available across the web to anyone who searches through the archive.

Security

This site maintains the same level of security for Personal Information collected in an electronic format as it does for that collected in paper format.
