Stretton’s electorate is situated on the outer south-eastern corner of Brisbane. The residential suburb of Stretton can be found 17 kilometres south of central Brisbane. More than half of the area is taken up by the Karawatha State Park, with shopping and primary education facilities found outside the boundaries of the suburb of Stretton. Stretton’s Recreation Reserve is found in the State Park, and marks the beginning of many bush walking tracks. The residential area of Drewvale is also blessed by lush, bushland. The Gateway Motorway passes through many of the suburbs of electorate such as Stretton and Kuraby, making it a convenient location for families to settle down. Because of this, various, new, housing estates were developed in the early 2000?s.
Suburbs: Kuraby, Calamvale, Drewvale, Stretton and parts of Runcorn, Sunnybank hills and Eight Mile Plains.
