Jobs and skills focus

The Bligh Government is investing more than $414 million to create about 150,000 new training places over four years, in conjunction with the Federal Government.

In addition, this year’s Budget delivers on a key election commitment – the Green Army – with the delivery of the first instalment of $57 million three- year plan.

This will deliver job and training opportunities to up to 3,000 Queensland jobseekers, and help the environment and local infrastructure at the same time.

Also underlining the Bligh Government’s strong commitment to jobs and skills, is $15 million worth of new payroll tax incentives for business employing apprentices and trainees which comes into effect on July 1.
