Craig Wallace - State Member for Thuringowa

Craig Wallace was elected to the seat of Thuringowa in 2004.

Craig Wallace was appointed Queensland Minister for Main Roads following the 2009 election.

Born in Home Hill Craig was elected to State Parliament in February 2004.

His Parliamentary service has included being Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier and Minister for Trade in North Queensland.

He has also served on a number of committees, including Estimates Committee A, 2006, the Impact of Petrol Pricing Select Committee and the Public Accounts Committee.

He was appointed Temporary Speaker/Deputy Speaker from August 2004 to August 2006.

Craig holds a Bachelor of Arts from James Cook University and before entering politics he worked in all levels of government.

Craig was as an adviser to the former Member for Herbert, an electorate officer for the former Member for Townsville and Executive Officer to the Mayor of Townsville.

With his North Queensland family roots dating back more than 130 years, Craig is unashamedly passionate about the region.

Craig has an affinity for all of rural and regional Queensland and a strong desire to see it continue to advance and prosper.

Mr Wallace and his wife Jennifer have two young daughters. His many interests include cricket, fishing, and rugby league, in particular his beloved North Queensland Cowboys.
