Lillian van Litsenburg - State Member for Redcliffe

Lillian was elected to the seat of Redcliffe in September 2006.

Lillian moved to Redcliffe in 1990. She is a community activist and was formerly a councillor on the Redcliffe City Council.

Lillian has worked with young people most of her life, recently, as a school teacher and as patron of the Special Needs Toy Library.
She is also a keen supporter of community development through accessible arts and cultural programs. She has been heavily involved in local community groups especially those dedicated to protecting the local environment.

Lillian was chair of Clean Beach Challenge and Tidy Towns. She initiated the no butts campaign, which resulted in a national litter prevention award.

Lillian has also assisted with the Redcliffe and District Wildlife Rescue. During her first term in Parliament Lillian has delivered the duplication of the Houghton Highway, the Margate Street Scaping, the completion of the heated/hydrotherapy pool complex at the Leagues Club, the completion of the Woody Point Jetty and other infrastructure in partnership with the Council and community organisations.

Lillian has worked tirelessly to deliver improvements to health services in Redcliffe including the new ED at Redcliffe Hospital and a wide variety of other new facitlities.

Lillian has worked with community groups to deliver money for programs, recurrent funding and capital items.

She is also working with business organisations to improve business outcomes for the whole community.

She has had the vision to encourage the community to come together and compete for the Get Active Challenge.

Lillian works closely with all levels of government in Redcliffe - with the local Mayor and Officers of Moreton Bay Regional Council as well as the Federal Government through Yvette D'Ath MP- Federal Member for Petrie.

Lillian is an innovator who will go all out to deliver outcomes for the Redcliffe community. She initiated a micro lending project to give people who are in need to borrow small amounts of money at market rates and rebuild their credit rating.
